Ack Crazy Week
Tuesday January 10th
Ack! What a crazy week so far. I got a call from the apartment building manager yesterday telling me the electricians would be coming to put in the wires necessary to convert our building from gas heating to electric. Terrible timing as I am away today for a quick overnight trip to Ottawa (work meeting and to see my sister).
I don’t like it when people are in my place when I’m not there. I worry that the workman will not keep track of opening and closing doors and the cats will escape. That would crush me if that happened.
I thought about locking the cats in the bathroom, but they’d go nuts if locked in there for 36 hours. So I decided to just inform the workman and hope he’d keep an eye out. Fingers crossed!
On to part two of the crazy week. I wanted to clean up the apartment a bit but had a bunch of work to do yesterday and then I had the first night of bowling league. No time! So this morning I swept the floors, tidied piles of papers, did the dishes and emptied the closets. All normal tasks except for the last one.
Let me explain. I thought they would need to go in there as some weird drilling had been done from the outside a few weeks back leaving a huge covering of dust on my clothes. No one had warned me they were doing this work so I thought it best to be prepared.
Well, the guy who showed up this morning told me e didn’t need to go into my closets. Wee! Except now I am going to come home to a bed with a huge pile of burlesque costumes, hats, props and boxes on it. I will have to put this stuff away!
If I needed to clean an organize the closet then it would be great but I don’t. I did that a few months ago.
